Motivational Poster: Never Be Afraid

Description

This is one of my 'final' pieces for my school project this month. I wanted to share it and the message I have going with it because I think many people could use this or to just look at something like this. One of my final assignments was to make a Motivational Poster with a "Why" statement to it, and this is what I came up with. I wanted to share something that I was extremely proud of, which was the completed piece of Zaturl that I posted not too long ago. And I wanted to get across that people in any field should never be afraid to change and to move on. Which with the process of the pictures in the bottom of the piece I feel captures it a bit.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Explain your "Why" statement. Who is your desired audience? My "Why" Statement is my personal way to show that no matter what you do with yourself and that no matter what you are trying so long as you are willing to change you are more than always going to continue to improve. As an artist (Of any type be it a music writer, someone who draws, etc.) you will never be able to truly 'get out there' unless you are willing to try new things. Do not stagnate in one area of the field, because that will cause you to suffocate and to lose passion. Those who I am trying to target would be fellow artists or people who fall into these situations, the people who simply lose their way or lose their desire to continue because they keep doing the same things every day and eventually burn out on them. Change is very important to any field of work or just any field in general.

What does the image you choose mean to you? The center image of the picture with the completed piece of what I have done means a lot to me, I put a lot of work and passion behind my pieces and normally I do not find myself 'proud' of small edits that I do from time to time but this was a heavy project for me to accomplish because as it shows, I took a very base model and just added things to it and then I had to work on not only recoloring them but also blending them into the original image and even having to work extremely hard to match the colors as closely as possible. While this might seem like a 'simple' recolor it took me almost 5 hours to get done with just the wings alone. I wanted to show people a progress of sorts from start to finish and to show a bit of my talent that I have. Of course, this is nothing compared to what I can do with a pencil and piece of paper.

Why is it important to understand your "Why" statement? Change needs to happen in order for anyone to be capable of improving in any field that they have chosen. By standing in a single place for too long you are going to allow yourself to burn out and get tired of doing it. I've been in that situation before in the past and I have seen so many artists who get 'upset' because they have taken on so much commissioned works that they simply do not have time for themselves and all they do is get tired of drawing because of it. If you keep treating your passion as a job then you are going to hate it and eventually, you might not want to continue IN that passion's field.
